The Canadian Border Collie Association
CBCA Championship

The CBCA Championship is an annual, premier sheepdog trial competition sponsored by the Canadian Border Collie Asociation. It features top-level working Border Collies in 'Open' and 'Nursery' classes. It is considered one of the highest-level, most prestigious trials often acting as a qualifier for international competitions like the World Sheepdog Trials.

PURPOSE: To showcase and test the working abilities of registered Border Collies, featuring a challenging "Double Lift" final.

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to run in the Double Lift final, dogs must be registered with the CBCA and handlers must be members by June 1, 2026. Register here: https://www.canadianbordercollies.org/forms

STRUCTURE: This event will include an Open class for experienced dogs and a Nursery class for dogs under 3 years old.

Abby’s Snack Shack Lemonades: Serving up 32oz fresh squeezed lemonade with the option of adding different flavours to it. Will be taking debit/credit cards and cash.
The Dirty Dawgs Hot Dog Cart: The Wright Brothers will be serving up loaded hotdogs & nachos of all types! Water, snacks and Breakfast Sandwiches will also be available.

The Top 5 dogs from each qualifying round, and the Top 5 accumulative dogs (15 dogs total) will go to the double lift finals on August 19th, 2026.
NURSERY:
$215/dog | 2 Nursery Runs
Ken Price Judging Nursery and
Nursery Finals
Top 2 dogs from each qualifying round, and the top 2 accumulative dogs (6 dogs total) will run in the Nursery Final
Nursery Final runs after the DL August 19th.
AWARDS
Awards will be handed out after the Nursery Finals for both the Double Lift, Open and Nursery Finals on August 19th.

In consideration that my dog(s) and I will be participating in the above named competition, I understand that I am responsible for any and all costs incurred as a result of damages caused by myself, my family or my dog(s) to facilitate, animals or people. I hereby agree that in the event of personal injury or damages to my property or animals, I will not hold Jamie & Harvey Gardner owners of the livestock, sponsors, volunteers, or property owners responsible. I hereby release Sheep Creek Farms from all liability, the property owners, and the exhibitors from any costs incurred as a result of damage to me, my property, and or my dog(s). My payment and signature acknowledges that I have read this form and that I accept liability for any cost incurred as a result of damages caused by me and/or my dog(s) to the facilities, sheep, other livestock, dog(s) or persons. Replacement cost of stock is $450 per sheep and/or vet bills.
